1. Acceptance of Terms
By using BuyMeAChai ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use our service.
2. Service Description
BuyMeAChai provides a platform for creators to receive payments ("Chais") from their audience via UPI. We are not a payment processor — all transactions occur directly between users via the UPI infrastructure.
3. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate UPI and account information
- Not use the service for illegal activities
- Comply with all applicable Indian laws, including the Information Technology Act, 2000
- Be at least 18 years old to create an account
- Not impersonate any other person or entity
- Not use automated tools or bots to interact with the service
4. Content Policy
Your profile — including your display name, profile image, and bio — is public. You are solely responsible for the content you upload. The following content is strictly prohibited:
- Sexually explicit or nude content — including as a profile picture
- Hateful, threatening, or harassing content targeting individuals or groups
- Content that promotes fraud, scams, or financial deception
- Content that violates the intellectual property rights of others
- Any content illegal under Indian law
We reserve the right to remove violating content and suspend accounts without prior notice. Repeated or severe violations may result in a permanent ban.
5. Payments
All payments are processed directly through UPI. BuyMeAChai does not handle, hold, or intermediate funds, and does not charge any platform fees. We are not responsible for failed transactions, payment disputes, or refunds — these must be resolved directly between the parties through their respective UPI providers.
6. Account Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or permanently terminate your account if you:
- Violate the Content Policy (Section 4)
- Provide false or misleading information
- Engage in fraudulent activity
- Attempt to abuse, scrape, or otherwise harm the service
Suspended accounts will have their public page replaced with a suspension notice. You may appeal a suspension by contacting our support team. We reserve the right to make the final decision on all appeals.
You may delete your account at any time from your account settings.
7. Limitation of Liability
BuyMeAChai is provided "as is." We make no warranties about uptime, data retention, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
8. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
